About

Hi everyone, I’m Persephone.

I suppose I should start with the basics. I’m 20 years old and from California. I have never been out of California as well. I have traveled up and down California though. I don’t have any pets because my apartment complex doesn’t allow pets so that makes my life a little miserable. I’m a such a cat person.

I’m in my third year of college so that’s very exciting. Just a few more years and a degree and I can become a high school teacher…hopefully. I do love to teach. Right now, I’m a just a volunteer at the local library which is great.

I have always been into reading so it was an easy choice for me to make a reading blog. However, I’m not the most consistent person in the world and that’s where my fear comes in. I’m a huge fan of Stephen King and I love his work. His short stories are really great.

I love vampires and thankfully, Twilight, had nothing to do with it. Ever since Anne Rice’s Interview with A Vampire, I have been in love with vampires. I find them to be extremely dark and romantic plus violent. To assume vampires are not violent in nature, is to believe George Romero’s zombies are sexy. They are not. Expect multiple reviews on vampire books.

Since I’m Persephone, the type of men that I fall for always appear to be Hades. It’s ridiculous. I’m watching Thor and who I do fall for? Loki, not Thor. I love Loki. In the Harry Potter Series, it’s always been Serverus Snape. I love him but that might have something to do with with my on-going obsession with Alan Rickman. Does he not have the sexiest voice ever? He is an amazing actor. So maybe I don’t fall for a Hades personality since I love Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) from Criminal Minds but rather the same particular looks. I wonder if that means I have no imagination when it comes to “falling in love.”

I truly do love the tale of Persephone and Hades. They are one of the best couples in Greek mythology. I would like to be believe that after her kidnapping, Persephone grew to truly love Hades. I’m a romantic at heart. If not, then at least they were loyal to each other unlike the other god couples (Zeus and Hera, Aphrodite and Hephaestus).

  1. To assume vampires are not violent in nature, is to believe George Romero’s zombies are sexy.

    Give it time…

  2. So cool that you like that story, its a very nice backstory to the name of your blog 🙂

  4. hey! I just nominated you for the sunshine award! Amusing seeing as you’re the queen of the underworld ;P Check out the rules etc: http://bookbimbo.wordpress.com/2012/03/31/you-are-my-sunshine-award/

    • Lol, thanks for the nomination. Persephone is the queen of the Underworld for about 4-6 months (depending on the version you read) but I’m also a goddess of Spring when I’m not in the Underworld. So it makes sense to be sunshine.

  5. Hello hello! I nominated you for the reader appreciation award. Check out the post: http://bookbimbo.wordpress.com/2012/06/27/the-reader-appreciation-award/
